Introduction

Day 2 Hall B is dedicated to practical imaging guidance, pharmacologic pain management, and advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning. This track empowers clinicians to master C-arm fluoroscopic procedures, refine their drug selection strategies for neuropathic and cancer pain, and elevate their sonoanatomy skills for ultrasound-guided interventions.
Through a combination of case-driven teaching, drug-mechanism deep dives, and live sonographic demonstrations, attendees learn to integrate image guidance, pharmacotherapy, and regenerative or targeted procedures for optimal patient outcomes.

Session 1: C-arm Guided Pain Interventions: Precision Under Fluoroscopy

Expert faculty present lumbar and cervical epidurals, SI joint procedures, sympathetic blocks, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks, and advanced RFA of spinal and peripheral nerves. The focus is on safe needle placement, contrast patterns, complication avoidance, and decision-making when fluoroscopy and ultrasound intersect.

A deep pharmacology dive covering opioids, adjuvants, and emerging biologics. Sessions review morphine for cancer pain, duloxetine, gabapentinoids, ketamine infusions, IV lidocaine, carbamazepine/oxcarbazepine, and biologics like adalimumab. Emphasis is placed on the mechanism of action, patient selection, combination regimens, side-effect mitigation, and real-world prescribing challenges.

Session 3: Sonoscan: Live Ultrasound Imaging for Pain Physicians

A hands-on exploration of sonoanatomy and live scanning techniques: brachial plexus, subtalar joint, 5-in-1 block, intercostal nerves, ACL evaluation, rectus sheath block, cervical facet, and SHAC block. Gain confidence in probe manipulation, target visualization, hydrodissection techniques, and safety pearls for ultrasound-guided pain interventions.
