Is there any relation between neuropathic pain and depression? This was the first study to explore the relation between these two. Lot of studies are there and relation between chronic pain & depression is well known. Chronic pain can be broadly of three types: 1) nociceptive pain which is because of non-neural tissue damage, 2) neuropathic pain which is because of damage or dysfunction of neural tissue or it can be mixed nociceptive & neuropathic. This study tries to find out whether depression is more common in neuropathic pain or chance of depression is equal in all types of chronic pain.
